Campaign Entertainment

As I've said before, it's going to take a lot of work to get the 5,000,000 votes we need on November 2. We need to reward ourselves with some fun.

Barry Melton, formerly "The Fish" of Country Joe and the Fish, will be playing and providing the fun and entertainment at Rusty Selix's house party in Sacramento on September 18 (part of the Statewide House Party event that day). I believe he'll also be playing at the October 4 event on the grounds of the former state hospital in Stockton, and perhaps at our election night party at the Sheraton in Sacramento as well.

After his years as a rock star, Barry became an attorney and has practiced criminal defense work for a couple decades. He's now the Public Defender in Yolo County. Barry has represented hundreds, and maybe thousands, of people with mental disabilities who defaulted into the criminal justice system or juvenile justice system. He's very well aware of the urgency of the need that we get the votes we need in November.

Barry is volunteering his time for the campaign as his personal contribution. He's also paying his band members out of his own pocket for the September 18 gig as a contribution to the campaign. He insisted that he wanted to do that.
